One of the most critical members of the Hospice El Paso team is the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Under the supervision of the Hospice nurse, the CNA provides personal care services according to each patient’s individual plan of care. This includes accurately recording temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure readings with each visit. In addition, the CNA monitors and reports significant changes in the patient and demonstrates personal care techniques to the patient, family and caregiver.
The versatile Hospice CNA can also help with bathing, skin care, grooming, dental care, assisting with bathroom needs, dressing activities, walking assistance, oral feedings, therapeutic exercises, simple wound care, etc… It is easy to see how invaluable the CNA is to the Hospice El Paso team!
